SAFETYCON 2023

Patient safety is of paramount importance as avoidable adverse events, errors and risks associated with health care remain major challenges for patient safety globally for all healthcare providers. It is not only the hospital staff that are responsible for patient safety but patients and their families play a crucial role in the safety of health care delivery.

Indraprastha Hall, RGCIRC, Rohini, Delhi 16th - 16th September, 2023

9:00 am to 4:30 pm

Theme Engaging patients for patient safety

Theme for this year’s World Patient Safety Day is “Engaging patients for patient safety“. Patients and Families are responsible for giving right disease and treatment history to the healthcare provider. They are responsible for the post discharge care of the patient especially for timely and right medicine administration, patient hygiene, patient rehabilitation and follow ups. Indiscriminate use of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance is another issue which can be dealt with only by awareness of patients and their families. Patient is a very good source of feedback regarding health care service and is a great source of quality improvement and safe patient care. So it is of paramount importance and need of the hour that patients and families to be involved in the policy making to reduce the gap in knowledge, policy, design and delivery of healthcare.
