Trained oncology nurses are in great demand in national/international cancer centers/hospitals, nursing colleges, research institutes and community hospitals, both in government and private sector. Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing (PBDON) is meant to fulfil this ever increasing demand. The course is meant for qualified nurses (B.Sc. Nursing/ Post B.Sc. Nursing/GNM) for one academic year.

AIM OF THE COURSE:

  • To upgrade the knowledge and skills of trained nurses in oncology nursing
  • To create a framework of Specialty in Oncology Nurses
  • Handling and maintaining venous access devices like PICC, central lines, ports.
  • Chemotherapy : Preparation, Administration and Management of side effects and complication
  • Brachytherapy
  • Major and minor surgical procedures
  • Oncology emergencies
  • Management of the common symptoms, Care of critically and terminally ill cancer patients.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Applicants should satisfy the following criteria:
  • The candidates applying for the course should have passed the GNM/ B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course with 50% marks recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the concerned State Nursing Council.
  • Should possess RN/RM registration. (State Registration)
  • Age limit: Upper age limit is 40 years as on the last date for submission of application for all categories.
  • The candidate should have all the qualifications dated on or before the last date for submission of application as prescribed by RGCI&RC

HOW TO APPLY

  • Applicant must read all details of the course available on the website www.rgcirc.org before filling up the form.
  • If information furnished is found to be false then the applicant’s candidature / registration / admission will be cancelled / terminated without intimation.
  • Read the prospectus carefully before filling the application.
  • Application procedure is common for all candidates seeking admission to the course.
  • The applications that are not complete in all respect will not be considered.
  • The marks scored by the candidates in their qualifying examination, will bring to a common index system.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for outstation candidates.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

  • Duly filled application form along with the necessary documents shall be submitted to the following address directly to Nursing Office, RGCIRC on all working hours (09:00 AM – 05:30 PM).
  • The envelope containing the application should be superscripted “Application for Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing 2024-25″ Director of Nursing, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Sir Chotu Ram Marg, Sector – 5, Rohini Institutional Area, New Delhi, Delhi – 110085.
  • Late applications will not be considered after the Last date of submission.
  • Application via e-mail shall not be accepted.

REMITTANCE OF APPLICATION FEE

  • Application fee is ₹300/-

SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • The selection will be made by the selection committee based on the merit i.e. marks obtained by the candidate in the Written Examination and Personal Interview. Decision of Selection Committee shall be final.
  • RGCIRC reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualification and marks. Merely fulfilling the prescribed qualifications will not entitle an applicant for selection.
  • Hospital also reserves the right to reject any OR all the applications without assigning any reason thereof.
  • Selected candidates need to undergo medical examination at RGCIRC Delhi.

ACADEMIC SESSION 2024 – 2025

Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre is pleased to announce career development opportunities in oncology nursing. Applications are invited from eligible nurses for Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing- Academic Session 2023 – 2024 (1st batch). This course is of 12 month’s duration and is permitted by Indian Nursing Council. The details are as follows:-
NUMBER OF SEATS 20(twenty)
Educational Qualification GNM/ BSc. Nursing/ Post B.Sc. Nursing
Experience Minimum experience of 1 (one) year of clinical experience is mandatory
Additional Requirement Should be proficient in reading, writing and spoken English.
Age Limit 40 (forty) years as on the last date for submission of application
    • * Last date of receiving hard copy of the application : 18th September 2024

SECURITY DEPOSIT

Selected candidates are required to deposit an amount of ₹ 5000/- (five thousand) at the time of joining. The deposit amount will be refunded without interest on completion of the training course. If candidates leave the Training before completion of the course, the security deposit will stand forfeited.

COURSE FEE

₹50,000/- There is no relaxation on fee.

HOSTEL FACILITY

Sharing accommodation will be provided on chargeable basis to external female candidates, subject to availability. Hostel charge is ₹ 3000/month.
