About

Dr. Gauri Kapoor is an alumnus of Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. She earned her PhD in Molecular Oncology from University of Delhi (ACBR).

Dr. Gauri Kapoor is a leading Pediatric Oncologist of National stature, she carries an experience of 26 years in Pediatric (Medical) Oncology. She has also worked with Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, USA. She is a recipient of Heinz fellowship by Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, London.

Currently, she is Director and Head of Department of Pediatric Hematology – Oncology, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre. She joined RGCI&RC in May 1997 and developed the Department of Pediatrics to its current premier status. National Board of Examination recognizes the Department for fellowship training of 2 post graduates in the subspecialty every year since 2008.

Dr Kapoor has donned many hats and chaired many committees with her dynamic leadership. She is currently the chairperson of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology chapter of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Chair InPOG Late effects committee of IAPs and chairperson of Infection Control Committee, RGCI&RC. In recognition of her administrative skills she holds the additional responsibility of Medical Director of our Institute’s Nitibagh facility in South Delhi. Her interest in academics and research is well known and she has more than 75 publications in peer reviewed journals.

Her areas of interest include pediatric leukemias, molecular oncology, stem cell transplant, survivorship and awareness programs for childhood cancer for general public as well as practitioners.
