His long-term vision is to drive change through technological advancements in medical solutions aimed at treating cancers of the genitourinary system, including the bladder, kidneys, penis, prostate gland, and testicles.

He has played a vital role in setting up the Genito Urinary Surgical Oncology Department from scratch and its technological transformation at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC), Delhi, making it as the first-of-its-kind in India. Over the past 23 years, he provided substantial aid and benefits to 15000+ patients, both from economical and affluent class.

He is the first Surgeon who has done more than 1000 robotic surgeries in Eurasia. Dr. Rawal’s involvement in the development of India’s first robot played a crucial role in its trial and success. This Robot now been installed in more than 60 places in India and other country like Nepal, Pakistan Indonesia and Ecuador. Furthermore, Dr. Rawal’s surgical expertise includes performing the world’s first mini -laparoscopic radical cystoprostatectomy as well as conducting the maximum number of robotic RPLND surgeries, one of the most complex procedures in the world.

Dr. Rawal Excels in providing strategic and operational direction while leading the entire gamut of Healthcare Management, General Administration and Operational Excellence of Healthcare Organization. His strength lies in leveraging medical domain skills in setting up appropriate structures, systems, competencies, and values in the assigned units.

Dr. Rawal played a major role in developing made in India Robot Monitor. All clinical trials and input to improve the robot has been done under his leadership.

He conducted the first clinical trial of tele-surgery while sitting in Gurugram, 40 kilometers away, and operated at RGCIRC Rohini, Delhi. This has significant implications for extending technology to remote areas as well as for providing education anywhere in the country.

Dr. Rawal has extensive surgical experience, having performed over 35,000 major and minor surgeries related to uro-gynecological cancers and approximately 6,000 robotic surgeries since February 2011. Under his guidance, the hospital’s robotic surgery program has flourished, becoming one of the best in the country. The program has trained doctors from across India and internationally, including from Pakistan, African countries, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

In addition to his clinical achievements, Dr. Rawal is deeply committed to philanthropic initiatives. He actively treats patients from economically weaker sections (EWS), with 50 beds at the hospital dedicated entirely to providing free cancer care. The hospital is also associated with the Ganga Prem Hospice in Rishikesh, offering compassionate care to terminally ill cancer patients, including home care services.
