Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women worldwide and in India. In light of rising cases, Dr. Garima Daga, Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology at RGCIRC, in an industry story on July 26 highlighted the crucial role of regular self-breast examinations. She emphasized that a simple monthly check, taking just a few minutes with three fingers and a mirror, can be highly effective. By becoming familiar with how their breasts normally feel, women can more easily notice any changes or abnormalities early. Dr. Daga noted that any differences observed during the examination, such as skin thickening, ulceration, nipple discharge, or lumps in the breast, underarms, or nipple, could be significant. Despite the increasing incidence, experts stress that performing monthly self-examinations can greatly aid in early detection.
As a society, RGCIRC is looking forward to get support from generous people
