In anticipation of the upcoming budget for the Financial Year 2024-2025 on July 23, Mr. D. S. Negi, CEO, RGCIRC, shared the budget expectations for the healthcare sector. Mr. Negi urges the government to prioritize funding for cancer care. He recommends expanding the Ayushman Bharat scheme to cover individuals over 70 and increasing coverage for critical illnesses like cancer. The CEO also called for advanced treatment options and greater financial support for patients apart from highlighting the need for comprehensive cancer care solutions and aims to reduce the financial burden on those affected. He also emphasized the importance of building more specialized cancer treatment centers and providing better training for healthcare workers. Additionally, public awareness campaigns about cancer prevention and symptoms are crucial for effectively combating the disease.
